On day 3 of our trip, we had a couple more business matters to take care of. We first stopped by the final dress rehearsal for the HyperSquad show at Mckinley Theater. We got to see all the hard work and setup that was going into the show. There were also some last minute surprises for Newkon, as his family and friends wanted to honor him before the craziness of the concert began. One of the surprises was a reunion of Newkon's first musical group, Club Supremacy. Mr. Kallusive and Michael also gave a speech to honor Newkon as he makes his transition to LA to become the new Artistic Director of Kallusive. Emotions ran pretty high as people prepared for what would be his last show in Hawaii. We then went out to Pearlridge Mall to visit the main Prototype store that carries our clothes and collab skate decks. We got to kick it with our good friend Kevin and chat about the store and our upcoming business together. We ended the night with an awesome family BBQ with Newkon's extended family. Thank you to all of you for welcoming us into your home and for the great meal!

Hawaii Day 2
Thursday was our day to go around and enjoy some of the beautiful places in Oahu. We enjoyed 18 holes of golf at Hawaii Kai Country Club with our boy Kaipo from Hawaiin Airlines. Hawaii Kai is located on the scenic south side of the island, where the holes were split between views of the volcanic mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The sun broke out halfway through the day and turned out to be very nice weather. After golf, we visited our friend Steve, Paulo, and Brittany from Pacific Soul Tattoo. Mr. Kallusive got his arm pieces touched up a bit while we hung out. A very relaxing day as we prepare for the things we had to do this weekend.

Hawaii Day 1
We returned to Hawaii this week to take care of some business and attend Newkon's last show with his dance studio, Hypersquad. We flew in Wednesday afternoon, and with some time to kill, we decided to hit up some of our favorite spots. We come to Hawaii often, so we like to hit a lot of local spots and visit some good friends instead of the typical tourist activities. We have a lot planned for this trip, but we will first show you some pictures from our first day out here!

Next stop, the Ala Moana Mall, one of the largest outdoor malls in the world. We like to come here and visit all the stores that carry our gear. First stop, of course, Metropark!

VIBE 15 Recap
Yesterday was the 15th anniversary of the VIBE dance competition in Irvine, CA. VIBE is known as the premier dance competition on the west coast, as people fly in from all over the nation to watch this show. VIBE XV turned out to be the best one yet, as Kallusive and LTD (the organization who started VIBE) brought 23 of the best hip hop dance teams on to one stage! With record ticket sales, over 4000 attendees, and one of the closest competitions we have ever seen, no one left this show disappointed!
Congratulations to Choreo Cookies from San Diego for taking first place! Cookies was followed by Irvine's own Common Ground in second, and perennial powerhouse Team Millenia in third. The show was also highlighted by some of the most talented dancers from all over performing with exhibition teams. ABDC Season 5 participants, Poreotix, opened the second half with a memorable performance highlighting the true style of popping and robotic movements. They seemed to poised to go far this season on ABDC.
One of the favorite acts of the night was a project put together by our very own Mike Song and Anthony Lee, called Anbu Black Ops. Comprised of members from Kaba Modern, Quest Crew, CADC, Team Millenia, and many other teams in the industry. Anbu mixed intricate choreography with some comedic moments to entertain the crowd and warrant the only standing ovation of the night!!
